On 18.06.24, students from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science had the opportunity to visit the current construction site. Three new wind turbines with a capacity of 4.2 MW each are currently being erected there. The dimensions of the wind turbines - height approx. 160 m, span of the rotor blades approx. 140 m - require a crane whose highest boom reaches 180 m into the sky.

The service life of such a wind turbine depends on various factors (generally around 25 ... 30 years). The costs are in the mid single-digit million range.
