The third symposium on polymer insulating materials and their interfaces was successfully concluded.
The third symposium on polymer insulating materials and their interfaces, organized by VDE Dresden e.V. under the scientific direction of Prof. Dr.techn. Stefan Kornhuber, took place successfully from 25 to 26 January 2024 at the University of Applied Sciences Zittau / Görlitz.
The conference provided an interdisciplinary platform for experts from the fields of materials technology, chemistry and electrical engineering to discuss ideas and experiences in the development of materials and insulation systems. The focus was on the exchange of requirements and developments in the field of electrical insulation technology. Particular attention was paid to the sustainability, traceability and freedom from labeling of materials as well as the increasing requirements of the "All Electric Society".
Dr. Schulze from the Fraunhofer Plastics Center Oberlausitz at Fraunhofer IWU and Mr. Haupt from TU Darmstadt - Center for Engineering Materials began the symposium with an introduction to the additive manufacturing of multi-material systems and their possibilities as well as international standardization. These impulses laid the foundation for further discussions and presentations during the event.
The symposium provided space for presentations and discussions on current issues from industry and research. The presentations and poster contributions stimulated discussions on current and future challenges and solutions. Almost 70 participants from Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Algeria and Germany took part in the conference, at which 20 papers were presented. The papers will be published as a Diamond Open Access publication.
