Neisse-Elektro 2024 - Electrical Engineering Olympics for schools in the Euro-Neisse region

Preparations for the 30th Olympiad are underway

Welcome to the page for the "Neisse-Elektro" Olympiad! The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences has been inviting students to take part in an electrical engineering competition since 1995. Every spring, 20 students each from Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany are invited to take part in the challenging competition.

Next year, the Olympiad will take place on Saturday, March 16, 2024.

A working group with schools from the Czech Republic, Poland and Germany is preparing the event together with the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. All participants will receive the old exams for preparation, two workshops in Zittau (voluntary participation) and the official formulary in English.

Most schools offer their own preparation courses. There are two offers at the university:

  • Experimental lecture in the high-voltage hall January 9, 2024
  • Workshop on calculating and measuring circuits with resistors on January 25, 2024

Review of the past Olympiad

Review: The Neisse-Elektro is an electrical engineering Olympiad that has been held with pupils from the border triangle since 1995. Every spring, 20 students from Poland, 20 from the Czech Republic and 20 from Germany take part in the challenging competition. In 2023 we invite you to the 29th Neisse-Elektro in Zittau.

The Neisse-Elektro will take place on March 18, 2023 in Zittau. The schedule in detail:

  • 9:55 Take your seats, 10 a.m. Start of 90-minute exam, exam questions 2023

In the run-up to the Olympics, we invite pupils to workshops in our laboratories at the university. The picture gallery from 2019 gives a small insight into the Olympiad with exam, excursion and award ceremony. In the years 2020 to 2022, the Olympiad took place as an online event.
