2018 Conference: Polymeric insulating materials in electrical engineering

DC stress - behavior, aging and possibilities of polymeric insulating materials and their interfaces

Objective

The conference on polymeric insulating materials is aimed at manufacturers, users, consulting companies and institutions. The focus is on DC voltage, whether in relation to transmission grids or also in relation to changes in the area of distribution grids in medium voltage and low voltage or also in relation to electromobility. This conference will discuss the behavior of polymeric insulating materials, their interfaces and the possibility of adapting materials with fillers.

It offers a platform for the presentation and discussion of current issues from industry and research. The focus will be on three main topics. The lectures and poster contributions serve as impulses for the discussion of current and future challenges and approaches to solutions. There will also be an opportunity to exchange experiences in an open atmosphere.

Main topics

1) DC - stress on the solid material

  • Spatial charge phenome and measurement
  • Degradation mechanisms
  • Long-term stability and determination of service life

2) DC - stress on interfaces

  • Surface charge domain and measurement
  • Degradation mechanisms
  • Hydrophobic resistance
  • Creep and erosion resistance

3) Fillers

  • Fillers and functional fillers
  • Qualification of fillers
  • Calculation of the behavior in the matrix material
  • Implementation and evaluation of the behavior in the matrix material
