On October 1, 2021, the HIGHVOLT Prize for the best diploma thesis in the field of electrical engineering was awarded as part of the closing event for the SaxoGRID junior research project. The high-voltage hall at TU Dresden provided a worthy setting for the award ceremony. For the first time, the prize, which is endowed with 1,000 euros, was presented to the winners from TU Dresden and HS Zittau/Görlitz at a joint event. The winners are Jan Lasse Gnärig from TU Dresden and Henry Hirte and Jun Ting Loh from the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.
Mr. Steiner from HIGHVOLT praised the achievements of the award winners. "With their outstanding, forward-looking work and results, the young scientists are making a contribution to national and international standardization in the distribution grid."
The HIGHVOLT has been promoting young talent in the field of electrical engineering, particularly in high-voltage technology, in Saxony for many years. In addition to awarding the HIGHVOLT Prize, HIGHVOLT also offers internships and thesis supervision to interested students.
